How the News Effects Your Vote and Thoughts

"The great masses of people will more easily fall victims to a big lie than to a small one. Especially if it is repeated over and over." - Adolph Hitler

There are many news stations, cable TV news and local television stations that are viewed daily. Do you really think any of these stations are bipartisan? Do you think they are after ratings? Do you really think they are after their own agenda? Well this is the place to find your answer to all of these questions.

Breaking down the news that you see, read or hear is a task within itself. Most people think that Journalist have a code of ethics and they do. The Journalism code of ethics is posted on the website of Professional Society of Professional Journalists and is clear and concise, Seek Truth and Report It. “Journalists should be honest, fair and courageous in gathering, reporting and interpreting information.”

Journalism today has turned into RATINGS, yes RATINGS! If you watch any of the channels they are only interested in this because this is what drives income to the station. If the station is watched more than any other station, they will get the most ads. More ads = more income and more income = higher paid anchors, CEO’s, researchers, producers, etc.

The Road to the White House

The road to the White House is not a simple task. Most American’s have no idea what it takes to become President of the United States of America. But what wins an American Presidency? Let’s get to the heart of that.

Barack Obama becoming the first black President of the United States is a milestone for America but did American’s make the decision based on the facts? Did American’s get swindled into believing he was the “best” man for the job? Are we all so hypnotized by television that we trust and believe whatever it told to us each and everyday by the newscasters? The answer is yes, you bet cha!

Have Americans become so lazy that they don’t care about the facts or finding out what or whom they are voting for? Can we honestly say Americans are in a since ignorant when voting because all they do is feed into the rhetoric? Lastly, can we believe that some Americans vote with their emotions rather than their head? The answer to all of these questions are yes.

How do you really know who is the best person for the job? How do you find the information in a non-biased manner? Should you as an American do your homework when voting or should you leave it up to the newspapers, news anchors and short commercials? What is your role in the election?

Do you know what it really means to be a Democrat? How about being a Republican? What does it mean to be an Independent? Do you really know where it all started and how these parties divided? Do you really understand why it is important to know the difference? It might surprise you what the fundamentals of each parties objectives are. What you might not realize most Americans vote based on one or two issues instead of looking at the overall picture. Most Americans also believe that one party is for an issue and the other might not be just based on their political association. This is not true, you must check the facts.

My object is for you to understand what your part is in the American election and how outside forces persuade you to vote. Most Americans don’t make up their own minds they let others do it for them. Right now you are thinking that is not true but keep reading my blog posts with an open mind and you will understand this is a true statement.

Going Green!

Unfortunately oil has been the way of the world for years and people don't know how to let go. I would be more than willing to use alternate sources but if we use corn we have to produce a lot in order to make all the cars go and that will not happen, we can't make that much corn to both eat, feed our livestock and feed our engines. We have to find something other than ethanol, while I understand they are looking at using waste/trash in order to convert it to gas and use it in cars, which is the latest on the horizon it has not been shown to be effective yet. I see some problems with this as electricity takes coal and oil so that would not solve our problem with oil totally until we have the funds to help the electrical companies switch over to the alternate source. You see once we find this alternate source, we will incur so many costly start up fees which we would have to make electric companies fork out those expenditures and when they do so this would inevitably mean they will past the costs along to the consumer. It's not as easy as it sounds you know and it will be very expensive, going green is something we all want to do but because of the expense believe it or not the government is trying to save us the money. It will take time unfortunately and on this we will need to be patient and do one thing at a time; we already have “green” friendly cars.

Let's get rid of Illegal Immigrants!

Changing this is easy, taxes! Tax the person or persons who hire illegal immigrants or fine them. If you have illegal immigrants working for you, you will be fined $XX for each person in your care/employment. You will also take the risk of losing your business to the American government. Now you say this will hurt our economy because of the wages that are paid to them as well as the fact that we will now have jobs that will need to be filled that no one will want. Which now answers question number 4? You can find the homeless in the shelters, under our bridges (as John Edwards loves to put it each time he mentions it) and in our parks sleeping on our benches. Find the homeless, give them shelter by the farm that they will be working and in exchange for the work they will have hot food, a roof over their heads as well as wages they will be able to start saving, giving them the ability to get out of “homeless” status. I know this will cost some funds to incorporate into each farm but for the amount of funds we will receive in fines for illegal immigrants working on a farm as well as the funds we will save taking care of them in our hospitals as well as the fund we will save chasing them down we can now put this plan in place with some help of local governments. With NO jobs to come and work, no fence will be needed. I know you are saying what about the drugs….I will address that later on. Why dump money where it doesn’t belong, solve the problem by eliminating the draw of jumping over the fence. No jobs, no illegal immigrants, thus giving us more funds to spend elsewhere in our economy.

10 Reasons to Run for President, or so they say.......

  1. To change the current illegal immigrant status of this country.
  2. To find alternative to the use of oil?
  3. To help with the health insurance crisis of America.
  4. To help our homeless, whether they are vets or non veterans.
  5. To decrease taxes (to the poor, democrats say and increase to the rich or decrease them across the board as the republicans say).
  6. To aid in education.
  7. To keep free trade alive or kill it?
  8. To keep our country safe.
  9. To keep a woman’s right alive or kill it?
  10. Stronger punishment for criminals?

Every Democrat or Republican has his or her belief but isn’t it time we changed this country to believe that things have changed? A US where we don’t have to be an ultra conservative or an extreme socialist? I mean wasn’t this country built on the belief you came here to BUILD the American dream? What are some American’s wanting, the American dream to be GIVEN to them? Why is it the other taxpayer’s responsibility to give someone else their hard earned money? Just because they had the gumption to get up off their ass to work hard and make something of themselves there are now penalties for this? Why then, would we keep this dream? If the government is going to continue to want to give it away then why work for it? Shouldn’t everyone in this country want the same things and work just as hard for them? Why so many handouts? SOCALISM is here in the Democrats and in some Republicans (aka McCain). Here is my breakdown of how to solve some of the issues without fail but of course the house and senate would have to pass these ideas….bet these have been thought of but no one is willing to work to have them done. Color outside the box why don’t you??????

Chris Matthews

So, I understand Barbara Walters is talking smack about Chris Matthews from MSNBC on the View, shocker I know. The View has always been a show that has the ability to shock you with their "vivacious chat". I however don't think they were wrong this time around. Joy, who really needs to keep her mouth closed after her "saints" comment, read something Chris Matthews said in regards to the NH win over Obama. This comment was unbelievable and I could not believe that he would even have the guts to say that the only reason she ever became a US Senator and the only reason she is a front runner for the Democratic Nomination is because of the sympathy for the fact that she had to deal with his indiscretions during her husband's presidency. Well I guess I should believe it, after all it is Chris Matthews!

What happened to news being JUST NEWS? I thought that they were supposed to just report the news and not MAKE the news. I know that each network is in it for the money but WOW, to make shock jock comments just to get a boost in ratings is below the belt.

When will the newscasters just report the news and not make the news or sway the American publics vote/thoughts/feelings about the candidate/world/president? Talk about driving under the influence of alcohol, how about living under the influence of the news?

Zombie Driven American's, you tell me!

I always enjoy reading the blogs that have the cut and copy from newscasters/newspaper articles. I think I am more along the line of real hardcore feelings in the political world. I of course have my TV tuned to every major news station in order to keep up with who is saying what and crying where.

Of course I think Hillary pulled those tears out of a hat in order to get a sympathy vote but of course there is only a varied few of us that can feel sympathy for a robotic political figure as she has made herself out to be. I am sure she was told to humanize herself in order to pull more of the vote her way, well dog gone it, it worked! I’m sure Obama never thought that he would lose the race in NH over a few tears in a bakery shop. I guess Obama will have to call in the big guns and ask Oprah to come bail him out of trouble as he is lagging in the polls - I bet - after the showing in NH.

Oh but then again, let’s not trust those polls and for gosh sake there must be some sort of scandal there. I’m sure the Democrats know all about scandal in the voting world after they have accused the Republicans of it the last 2 elections. Will they now be accusing each other? Where will it end? I guess it’s democracy at it’s finest, after all the definition of democracy is - a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections, wasn’t this a “free” election? That is the question on many people’s minds as the polls come in showing numbers much differently than expected.

Now the next question on my mind is, are they all LIBERALS, who is for keeping illegal’s out and abortion in? Has anyone asked the questions you need to know before heading out to the polls? Don’t hang your hat on his hair style or what the newscaster said or how much experience they say they have. Don’t get coerced by haircuts, candy, hot coffee or someone shoveling your driveways. This makes you think doesn’t it? Do we vote based on what’s in it for us right now, what kind of sad American’s are we? Or what’s in it for the LONG HAUL?

You, YES YOU, need to make the decision on your own, not Mom or Dad, not your best friend Mary or Paul, your kitten Muffin or your dog Jack or the dream you had last night where the candidate came to you in a dream and said pick me, this is your life and no one elses and if you don’t stand up for what you believe in, NO MATTER what anyone else thinks about it, then you have given up on what matters most, your future and your family’s future. Think about it.
